
A fire that broke out in the Anogyra area in the Limassol district was brought under control by evening, the fire services said.
Flames burned half a square kilometre of wild vegetation, carob and olive trees in an area between the villages Anogyra, Pachna and Dora, an announcement said.
Four firefighting aircraft and 12 engines were deployed to the area.
The service said it was alerted to the fire at around 2.15pm.
