Extravagantly decorated bars seem to be fading out and now people are opting for more laid-back and minimal places to enjoy a relaxing night out. Mason bar is one of the places to do exactly that, pairing relaxation and a vibrant nightlife within the picturesque heart of the Old Town.
Mason is in an old mansion house near the castle square with a terrific ‘garden’/seating area to the back of the establishment that is removed from all the hustle and bustle. The highlight though is the minimalist décor that creates a cozy atmosphere perfect for a quiet afternoon drink.
As far as drinks were concerned, we stuck to traditional cocktails, ordering a mojito, a couple of mixers and glasses of wine. What I liked about the place is that they were not stingy in their portions. The mojito was beautifully served, bearing all the must-haves that the drink should have. It was a refreshing answer to the heat of approaching summer. In all fairness all the cocktails came with enticing presentations; some in mason jars, some in other glasses. And at really great prices, you don’t regret trying an array of things.
Mason has not broken the mould as far as drinks are concerned but what will keep me going back is the great customer service, the ambience and the effortless transition that makes it a great day spot and a vibrant night spot. It is an ideal place to visit during the summer, at any time of day, and enjoy a relaxing, refreshing drink in graphic surroundings.
