The fallout from last week’s 35kg cannabis bust in Limassol continues as some of the persons involved are also suspected of being implicated in a stolen vehicle case, police said on Wednesday.
As investigations continued, police uncovered a web of shadowy dealings which implicated the 43-year-old despite him being the registered owner of the vehicle. He is currently in custody for last week’s drugs bust.
The car was reported as stolen back in September 2019. The report was made by the 41-year-old then owner of the car and the 22-year-old user of the car, both of whom seemingly knew the 43-year-old.
Further investigations found that the car was registered in the 43-year-old’s name in September 2020, while a request was also submitted to an insurance company for payment of compensation due to the supposed theft of the vehicle.
All three had arrest warrants issued against them on Tuesday.
