A 70-year-old man who was arrested on Tuesday after 79 cannabis plants and four kilos of the drug were found in two of his Limassol homes, was remanded for eight days on Wednesday.
Members of the drug squad YKAN had found 78 plants between two and 90cm tall and almost one kilo of dry cannabis in a cottage in Vasa-Kellaki, in the Limassol district, owned by the 70-yrea-old. During a search in the man’s Limassol apartment, officers located another cannabis plant and more than three kilos of dry cannabis.
The elderly man admitted the cannabis was his and that he was cultivating for personal use. Police, however, believe he intended supply to others.
