
A car owned by a 33-year old woman from Lebanon was destroyed early Friday in Limassol in a fire caused by an explosion.
The explosion occurred at around 3.10am. The car was parked outside the woman’s residence in Ayia Fyla.
The fire was put out by the fire brigade. Police also went to the scene. The explosion, police said, was caused from a low-grade improvised explosive device.
The owner of the car is abroad and is to return to Cyprus on Saturday.
Limassol CID is investigating.
