Limassol police arrested a 27-year-old man early on Saturday after he crashed his car while driving under the influence of alcohol.
The man was travelling on Amathounda Avenue at around 3am when he apparently lost control of the vehicle, climbed over the median and into the opposite side of the road, and crashed into the steel fencing of a shop and came to a halt.
Officers who arrived on the scene breathalysed the 27-year-old who initially recorded 100 microgrammes and 97μg later on in the final test. The legal limit is 9μg.
The man was arrested while Limassol traffic police continued their investigation.
