A 22-year-old man was arrested on Friday in Limassol in connection with the reported mugging of a 20-year-old man on an electric scooter on Monday.
The victim reported to the police on Tuesday that he had been assaulted and robbed on Monday evening in Limassol.
The police said that two people approached the victim on a motorcycle and asked him to stop.
When he refused, the two suspects attacked and kicked him, making the victim lose his balance and fall to the ground.
According to the complaint, the 20-year-old ran to a nearby bakery for shelter and after a few minutes ten more people gathered, holding bats and knives.
They then tried to attack the 20-year-old and a friend of his, who both managed to flee.
The 20-year-old reported that the perpetrators stole his electric scooter and a small bag with his wallet, cash and mobile phone.
In the framework of investigations, the police arrested the 22-year-old.
